Dear Friends in Music,
whether existing or those with whom our friendship is now developing,

Although the end of summer is still a long way away, and heat-alarms are on, I am already gearing up for the new season of my apartment-concerts to begin in the middle of September. I spend many hours a day practising in the comfort of my air-conditioned flat.
As with previous seasons, this time again I would like to offer some new features to my audience. Instead of a set programme, running unchanged until Christmas, at 18:00 on Fridays, and 15:00 on Sundays, the audience will now have the opportunity to choose what they prefer to hear from an extensive menu given below. Of course, I cannot please everyone as that would deteriorate into anarchy. Only particularly active music friends will be granted the right of selection. That is still an important step toward democracy, isn\'t it. You wonder how I will select the \"Elector dukes\"  I thought a Sudoku, generously offered by Mr. Jobbágy will do for a bit of brain jogging. Those sending to me the correct solution by email will win one of my CD-s along with the right to select the program for two events (i.e. Friday and Sunday of the same week). They will be presented with their award on either of the two days. Please select the programme so that the total playing time should work out around 60 minutes (I have indicated the approximate duration of the individual menu items next to them.)
Clearly, applicants finding the right solution will be the majority. Therefore they will be granted the right of compiling the program in order of receipt of their solutions. The quiz will be on my website for one month in a clearly visible location, then replaced by a new one afterwards.
An important point is that the solutions should be sent in - and thus the program compiled - promptly so I can start preparing, and notify Mr Málnási, my promotion agent, to communicate the final program to the rest of the audience.
In have taken an interest in Liszt\'s music lately, (2011 will mark the 200th anniversary of his birthday), but Schubert, Bach, and the evergreen Beethoven will likewise on the list. The menu for the upcoming season is the following,
  • Liszt: Sonata in b minor
    • Dante-sonata
    • The fountains in the Villa d\'Este
    • Hungarian rhapsodies no. 12 and 15 (Rákóczi-march)
    • Love-dream no. 3
    • 2 Consolations
    • Variations and Choral \"Weinen, Klagen\" on Bach\'s Cantata 12
    • Evocation in the Sixtine Chapel (a rarely played \'delicacy\')
  • Bach: 15 Inventions for 2 voices
    • 15 Symphonies
    • 15 Preludium and Fugue from the Well Tempered Piano I.
  • Schubert: Sonata c minor op. posth.
    • Sonata A major op. 120
    • Sonata B flat major op. posth.
    • Wanderer Fantasy
    • 2 Impromptu
  • Beethoven: Any (!) of the 32 Sonatas for piano, upon special request
Recitals with projection on request and recitals for special occassions on weekdays agreed in advance, for small private groups...
And much more!

I\'ve never written such a long newsletter before, even reading it requires a considerable effort. But it is nothing compared to its execution.

I hope that I will have the strength it takes.I surely will with your help...
